Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 5, 2026
1. Introduction
QRMax ("we," "our," or "us") operates the qrmax.com website and QR code generation service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store your full credit card details.
QR Code Data
We store the content you use to generate QR codes (URLs, text, contact information, etc.) so that your codes remain functional. For dynamic QR codes, we also store associated landing page content you create.
Scan Analytics
When someone scans a dynamic QR code, we may collect the scanner's approximate location (country/city level via IP geolocation), device type, browser, operating system, and timestamp. IP addresses used for geolocation are not stored in full.
Usage Data
We automatically collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to maintain and improve the service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the QR code generation and landing page service
- To process your transactions and manage your subscription
- To provide scan analytics for your QR codes
- To send you service-related communications (account confirmations, billing notices, security alerts)
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues
- To improve and develop new features for the service
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers: Stripe for payment processing, hosting providers for infrastructure, and email services for transactional communications
- Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and QR code content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and secure infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your dashboard
- Export your QR code data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
- Opt out of non-essential communications
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
9. Children's Privacy
QRMax is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
