Last updated: March 5, 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the QRMax platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and is designed to protect QRMax, our users, and the broader community.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use QRMax to create QR codes or landing pages that link to, contain, or promote:
- Malware and phishing: Software designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems, or pages designed to fraudulently collect credentials or personal information
- Illegal activity: Content that violates applicable laws, including the sale of illegal goods or services
- Fraud and deception: Scams, misleading schemes, or content that impersonates another person or organization
- Harassment and abuse: Threats, stalking, bullying, doxxing, or content intended to intimidate or harm individuals
- Hate speech: Content that promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Child exploitation: Any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors — reported immediately to relevant authorities
- Intellectual property violations: Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of third parties
- Spam: Unsolicited bulk messaging, link schemes, or deceptive redirect chains
3. Prohibited Behavior
You may not:
- Create QR codes designed to redirect users to harmful destinations after an initial safe scan (bait-and-switch)
- Use automated tools to mass-generate QR codes in a way that degrades the Service for other users
- Attempt to circumvent account limits, rate limits, or access controls
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of the Service without written authorization
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure
- Resell, redistribute, or white-label the Service without written permission
- Use the Service to collect personal information from QR code scanners beyond what is disclosed on the associated landing page
4. Landing Page Requirements
Landing pages created through QRMax must:
- Accurately represent the content or business behind the QR code
- Not disguise their true purpose or destination
- Comply with applicable advertising and consumer protection laws
- Include truthful business information when representing a business or organization
5. Resource Limits
To ensure fair access for all users, we enforce reasonable limits on API calls, QR code generation rates, and landing page traffic. Accounts that consistently exceed normal usage patterns may be contacted to discuss upgrading or adjusting their usage.
6. Reporting Violations
If you encounter a QR code or landing page that violates this policy, please report it to [email protected] with the QR code URL or short code. We review all reports and take action promptly.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- A warning with a request to correct the violation
- Temporary suspension of the offending QR code or landing page
- Temporary or permanent suspension of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement where required or appropriate
The severity of enforcement depends on the nature of the violation, whether it was intentional, and whether it is a repeated offense. We aim to notify you before taking action except in cases of imminent harm.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP to address new types of abuse or to clarify existing rules. Material changes will be communicated to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
